Shoemaking – A 75 Year Tradition

The Leather/Shoe Workshop is run by Ali Ademilson Antunes, know as Dé.  Dé has been making shoes since he was 12 years old and comes from a long line of shoemakers who founded the first shoe factory in Pratânia, Sao Paulo State, in 1935.  The workshop combines new equipment and forms with old moulds and techniques. The working process is divided into stages of shaping, cutting, gluing, assembling, dyeing and finishing, resulting in the creation of boots, shoes and belts.
